Let me introduce myself
Nature Artist Master Maine Guide
My love for nature led me into becoming a Master Maine Guide in 1983. I love sharing the beauty of nature. My goal in becoming a Maine Guide was to learn as much as I could from all my sports while they learned how to respect and enjoy nature from me. My guiding companions are my Brittanys, as we are a team. I am also a Safety instructor for the state.
I am Georgette Kanach of Gray, Maine. I am an artist who creates from the heart. The natural beauty of my great State of Maine is what inspires me. Born and raised in Jackman, Maine, I am a self taught artist, with over 60 years of experience. My lifelong love of Nature is truly demonstrated in all my many works of art.
My artwork spans from two-dimensional paintings to relief carving, air brushing, jewelry making, model painting, scrimshaw, engraving, egg art, wood burning, hand painted signs as well as vinyl signs , glass engraving and sand blasting. I work with natural mediums such as wood, antler, feathers and eggs as well as glass, metal and automobiles, not to mention conventional paintings in acrylics. My wildlife wood burned coffee tables and signs can be found in many camps and homes in Maine.
I have been honored with numerous ribbons for my Egg and Wood relief carvings. Winning first place in the State of Maine Duck Stamp contest in 2009 has opened many doors and further opportunities as well as being named Ruffed Grouse Society Artist of the year with my painting "Autumn Delight". I also designed the Maine Veterans Plaque and Coin in 2018. I now work in my studio in Gray, Maine where I enjoy creating one of a kind commissioned pieces. I sell my art out of my Gallery which is connected to my studio and work shop.
I always remember loving Art and Nature: it is a great gift that was given to me, and so by combining two loves of my life I am able to share them both in the art that I produce. "I do what I love and love what I do"
